Welcome back to our Introducing Team Plumlee series! This week we turn the spotlight on our career coach extraordinare, Diane Cothran!
Where is your hometown? Memphis (As a kid, I once waited outside the gates of Graceland with my family, and we got the payoff. Elvis’ gatehouse guard confirmed he was headed home and in a few minutes, in rode Elvis in his white limo!)
What was your childhood nickname? As a redhead, I heard them all growing up! My childhood neighborhood nickname was “Red Top Fotina” after the Red Tip Photinia tree.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within Plumlee & Associates, whose job would you want? Morgan’s with her creative background and technical knowledge
People would be surprised if they knew: I am a huge sports fan! Especially SEC football where I spend every Saturday during the season watching all the games. War Eagle!
What would you like to do for a living if you weren’t working with us? Teaching tennis to kids. I was on my high school and college tennis teams, and spent those summers in Baltimore teaching at the Don Budge Tennis Camp. He was the first to win the Grand Slam tournaments, and getting to work under him was inspiring! Plus my love for kids and watching them excel would be in play.
What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? I’ve had excellent role models over the past five years who are transformational leaders, and I aspire to be the same. I’m excited to now be consulting with Martin and team who encourage each other daily, set high expectations for our work, inspire others, and have fun along the way!
